A proposal for the downtown Forbes lot would put a 15-room boutique hotel above ground-floor retail and event space at 144 East Tarpon Avenue. Tarpon Springs’ staff report describes an approximately 11,731-square-foot, two-story building with an open courtyard.

The applicant is Joe Harrington of Infill Studio LLC, and the property owner is the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency. The site fronts both East Tarpon Avenue and East Court Street.

In the report prepared for the September 21 and October 13 review dates, city staff recommend approval with conditions. One requires incorporating the historic name and date block into the building. The report is a staff recommendation on the proposed site plan.
